*_ *Working Hours:* Working hours for this position consist of a 7.
5 hour period per day Monday through Friday.
Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee at the onset of employment.
*Summary:* Computes, classifies, records, verifies and reports on numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.
*Critical Success Factors During 1st Year:* · Become familiar with the grants and their respective guidelines · Prepare and submit invoices and reports for management and grant agencies · Assist Grant Coordinators in development, posting, and monitoring of budgets in accordance with grant guidelines *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* 1.
Develop, implement and maintain appropriate accounting systems for all College funds including, but not limited to, the Restricted and Agency Funds.
Maintaining the accounting systems may include the following: a) Analyze various accounts and prepare required adjusting and correcting journal entries.
b) Review and approve purchases and disbursements.
c) Prepare chargeback journal entries.
d) Perform close of month operational checklist activities which result in generation of trial balance.
e) Perform close of year reconciliations to prepare for audit.
f) Prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Trustee meetings and management.
g) Review and post requests for fund or account transfers.
h) Participate in the development of, accounting for, and control of all College budgets.

Prepare and submit invoices and reports for management and grant agencies as required.
3.
Assist Grant Coordinators in development, posting, and monitoring of budgets in accordance with grant guidelines.
4.
Assist agencies and club advisors in following the College’s policies and procedures for the purchasing of goods and services and disbursement of funds.
5.
Reconcile cash accounts on a monthly basis.
6.
Assist auditors as required in the preparation and account analysis of all funds.
7.
Assist the Controller in the maintenance of the Accounting Policy and Procedure Manual.
8.
Keep current on the changes of accounting procedures and reporting requirements as directed by State and Federal Agencies, including updates of FASB and GASB standards.
9.
Prepare accounting analysis and reports for both internal management and outside agencies as required.
10.
Inform the Controller of any deviations in established accounting procedures, or breaches of internal control.
11.
Account for fixed assets.
12.
Account for loans/bonds/notes which includes drawing down funds, preparing journal entries, and making principle/interest payments as per the debt service schedule.
13.
Act as back-up in the absence of the other Senior Accountant.
14.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Controller.

) in Accounting from accredited four-year college or university; or CPA certificate; or Bachelor’s degree (B.

) in Business with at least twelve credits in accounting.
Three years accounting-related experience required.
Experience in grant accounting and/or grant auditing highly preferred.
*Mathematical Skills:* Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to use PV tables and factors.
*Computer Skills:* * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of computerized accounting systems and controls, as well as experience with Word Processing software.
* Must possess a high level of proficiency and expertise in the use of spreadsheet software.
