Essential Skills Standard Employee has strong autonomy skills and requires minimal supervision of day-to-day job responsibilities.
Employee can troubleshoot problems and utilize available resources appropriately to resolve problems or concerns or provide suggestions for solutions within the boundaries of their position expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to the following): Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and revenue.
Participate in the month end/year end close activities and assist with external audit.
Process accounts payable transactions in accounting software.
Ensure all vendor invoices are signed off by appropriate approver and all G/L codes are properly assigned.
Process accounts receivable invoices and ensure revenue is properly recognized in accounting software.
Record donations, pledges, and other cash receipts in accounting software.
Receive, review, and record all bank transactions in accounting software.
Process all credit card transactions in accounting software.
Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers and reports.
Prepare and process payroll information per established payroll checklist.
File/maintain all financial records in vendor or client/customer files.
Process and distribute incoming mail to the North 5th Street office location as requested Serve as a back-up to the Office Administrator position during absences or position vacancies.
All other duties as determined by supervisor.
Requirements: Educational & Experience Requirements: Employment Experience (amount and kind) 1 – 2 years’ of experience with on-the-job training involving accounting principles and software Education (general level required or specific courses) Associate’s degree in related field preferred High school diploma or equivalent required Essential Physical Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties.
