*Job Description*
*Summary/Objective: *The Forklift Operator will operate an industrial forklift to accomplish various materials handling assignments.
*Essential Functions*
· Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, trucks and storage areas
· Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, equipment or processing materials accordingly
· Applies understanding of machine loading capacity and loading schedule, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items
· Uses protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure loads; once delivered, removes strapping and wrapping, then safely disposes of waste materials in designated containers or areas
· Reports any problems with materials or transportation to supervisors
· Manages and piles drums, skids, pallets, and other supplies in specified areas
· Services equipment as needed, report mechanical or electrical difficulties to shipping manager
· Performs other related duties as requested

*Supervisory Responsibilities*
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
*Program Responsibilities*
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the execution of the following programs:
· Shipping, Receiving, and Raw Material Program
· Shipment Inspections
· Transfer Documents
· First-in-First-Out Stock Rotation
*Work Environment*
The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.
The noise level of the work environment and the job site can be loud.
*Physical Demands*
Walks, sits, stands, bends, twists, lifts, and moves continuously during working hours; is subject to lifting over 30 pounds; is subject to repetitive motions.
*Expected Hours of Work*
This is a full-time position; the hours will vary based on your scheduled shift; minimum 40-hours per week.
*Travel*
*No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED
· Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
· Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
