Job Summary:
Maintain quality standards by performing laboratory analyses, interpreting results, and trending data following GLP/GMP practices.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Associate’s degree in technical field with a year of lab experience or 5 years of QC laboratory experience, required.
Food industry or dairy industry, preferred.
· Knowledge of food safety, food laboratory practices and GMP practices are required.
· Understanding of HACCP, PMO and basic sanitation practices is preferred.
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb stairs, repetitively for 5-60 minute increments, depending on the activity.
· Must have well developed organizational, strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects.
· Computer skills: Working knowledge of Excel and Word.
· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
· Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision.
· Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies.
Essential Job Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
· Performs sampling and laboratory testing within a manufacturing environment in a manner that is consistent with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) standards.
· Keep management and production employees informed of results of raw material, in-process, and finished product testing as needed.
· Meet all company testing proficiency requirements which include maintaining mandated state testing certificates.
· Proactively keep all laboratory equipment in good working condition which includes calibrating, monitoring performance using standards, and the ability to do routine maintenance and repairs
· Perform activities as required under the Laboratory PM program.
· Be responsible for ensuring that all laboratory documents generated by this position is legible, complete, accurate, and follows all company procedures for proper documentation.
· Perform laboratory administration duties which include but are not limited to routine and timely recording, scanning, reporting, filing, and inventory control.
· Responsible for laboratory organization consistent with GMP and 5S or other similar programs which include but are not limited keeping work area clean and organized.
· Follow all company policies and procedures, including those pertaining to safety, quality, manufacturing, social responsibility (including water and energy conservation), attendance and training.
· Perform key responsibilities of the Quality Analyst Lead in their absence or as needed.
· Work overtime, as assigned.
· Work cooperatively with others and in a professional manner at all times
