Location: Triad Truck Equipment- Pottstown, PA
Summary: Responsible for assembling pieces of metal together using heavy machinery that emits high levels of heat that melts the metal in to desired shape.
This position will from time to time include reading blueprints, cutting metal into shape, and smoothing molten metal to remove creases.
Essential Duties:
Reads assembles and welds from blueprints.
Prepares, assembles and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
Monitors the welding, burning and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion or shrinkage
Inspects work for quality
Maintains a safe and clean work area
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with shop foreman immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
Maintains and is accountable for all company-owned tools and manuals.
Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Valid Driver's License
Successful completion of background checks and drug screening
