*ROAD CREW: *Marion Township, Berks County seeks applications for a part-time road crew worker.
This position involves and requires a wide variety of work involving but not limited to: the maintenance of Marion Township property and road systems, operating heavy equipment & hand tools, traffic control, plowing snow, and any other duties/assignments as directed by the Road Master, or the Board of Supervisors.

Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Experience operating various tools and equipment, powered and unpowered, hydraulic, or hand tools.
· Experience with heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoe, loaders, tractors, and other attachments.
· Ability to lift minimum 50lbs
· Flexible schedule – ON-CALL winter maintenance AND evening/weekend hours may be required.
· Clean driving record w/ valid PA Class B CDL license with airbrake endorsement
· Must be able to climb ladders
· Must be a part of the PSATS CDL Random Drug Testing Program
· Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in a variety of weather conditions
· Ability to use manual tools
· Prompt and efficient in carrying out assignments.
*Skills/Attributes:* Knowledge of routine maintenance procedures for various types of equipment.
Possess knowledge and understanding of Township policies.
Ability to efficiently organize work tasks and utilize time management skills.
Practice safe driving and equipment operation practices.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including ability to provide and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently as well as with a small team.
Knowledge of mechanics, vehicles, and electrical is a plus.
*Duties/Responsibilities:*
Maintain Township roads in safe and drivable condition consistent with adopted state and town standards.
Other duties may be required and/or assigned by the Road Master or Board of Supervisors
· Routine and preventative maintenance of Township vehicles and equipment
· Paving, patching, tar and chipping streets and related work.
· Routine property maintence of Township property and related roads.
· Maintain cleanliness of Township garage
· Report back to supervisor with daily/weekly findings
· Assist Emergency Services during disasters or other incidents
· Operate Township trucks and equipment safely and effectively
· Work with contractors, consultants, and other outside sources
· Interact with residents in a courteous and respectful way.
· Road and storm drain maintenance
· Crack sealing
· Road signage installation
· Tree trimming and/or removal
· Leaf and yard waste pickup
· Snow plowing, salting, and antiskid
· Other manual labor
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.
00 per hour
