Ballymore Safety Products, a leading manufacturer of safety products, rolling ladders, personnel lifts and custom fabricated metal products, is looking for a Plant Operations Supervisor.
The Plant Operations Supervisor will report to the Vice President of Operations and will manage the daily activities of employees in the Warehouse, Lift Preparation, and Parts Departments.
Processes being managed include warehouse activities, shipping/receiving, inventory, Hydraulic lift assembly and preparation area, and other duties as assigned.
*Responsibilities include:*
* Lead and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant.
* Work closely with all shop personnel to ensure safety, productivity, employee morale and housekeeping are kept at a very high level
* Understand production requirements and adjust staffing as needed to ensure production levels are met, without sacrificing Safety or Quality
* Work with the Vice President of Operations and plant personnel to develop and document work procedures that ensure high quality work being done safely.
* Train new employees – provide feedback in the form of employee reviews for all employees they are assigned.
* Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Housekeeping on daily basis.
* Ensure employees wear appropriate safety equipment
* Ensure housekeeping is done daily and that tripping hazards or any other safety hazard are addressed immediately
* Insure operating and quality procedures are followed every day
* Enforce attendance policy
* Make sure tools and equipment are maintained and used properly at all work stations.
* Work with Vice President of Operations to ensure we provide excellent customer service, on-time delivery, and high-quality products.
* Monitor the Shipping & Receiving Area.
Provide assistance with products in and out of the building to customers and other company locations.
* Assist with Inventory Process throughout the year, including audits, cycle counts, etc.
* Partners and maintains effective communication with all departments without company on a regular basis including Purchasing, Accounting, Human Resources, Sales, and other Manufacturing locations
* Other duties as assigned
*Experience and Skills:*
* Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/operations management, or similar relevant position Production Lead or Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Conduct daily work group meetings
* Schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Possess leadership/organizational skills to manage 15-20 hourly employees
* Technical know-how of warehouse and manufacturing environment
* Have a good understanding of lean manufacturing principals
* Mechanically inclined, experience with hydraulic and electrical components a plus
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality control.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
* Lean certification a plus
* 2 or 4 year technical degree a plus
