Palmer is seeking candidates for the position of *Industrial HVAC Technician*.
The primary function of the *Industrial HVAC Technician* is to ensure all production and cooling units are operating properly.
The *Industrial HVAC Technician* is also responsible for repairing refrigeration and HVAC mechanical, production and electrical systems throughout the facilities while also ensuring the quality of our products are of the highest priority, by working in compliance with standard operating procedures, Company and Government regulations, and current Good Manufacturing Procedures.
The *Industrial HVAC Technician* will perform maintenance on other production equipment and complete other duties as assigned based on their individual skill level.
*There is the potential to earn $75,000 to $90,000 per year.
Overtime (hours 41-48) is paid at time and a half, and hours 49+ are paid at double time.

*Industrial HVAC Technician: Essential Functions/Duties* · Maintains, overhauls, and operates air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including compressors, pumps, evaporators, expansion valves, solenoid valves, all controls, condensers, and other related parts.
· Troubleshoots and adjusts HVAC systems and control equipment to maintain proper temperature, humidity, and air flow conditions.
· Monitors and measures pressure drop of HVAC filters and replaces them as necessary, observing all system integrity and safety requirements.
· Cleans HVAC coils, evaporators, and condensers via chemicals, special cleaning agents, high pressure wash units, etc.
in order to maintain equipment in good operating condition.
· Repairs and adjusts refrigeration systems to maintain design parameters, e.
g.
temperature pressure, level, etc.
· Insures compliance with CFC-related regulations and qualifications minimizing losses and maximizing recovery via effective leak detection, maintenance procedures, and use of reclaiming, recycling, recovery equipment.
Operates recovery, recycling and reclaiming devices to minimize refrigerant impact on environment.
Monitors and logs refrigerant usage as required.
Obtains appropriate certification as necessary to comply with applicable regulations.
· Answers alarms associated with monitoring systems and makes routine decisions concerning priority of response.
Reviews problems and situations with the Supervisor.
Participates in Company's "on call” after hours emergency call program.
· Performs refrigeration/HVAC preventative maintenance checks in a timely manner.
Complete tasks from work orders and PM checklists and maintains necessary work recommendations and logs activities via daily labor records.
· Maintain all necessary daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly documentation so the Company can achieve and maintain their SQF rating.
· Disposes of residual waste and hazardous materials properly.
· Performs some minor plumbing duties as required.
· Communicates effectively in a professional manner with supervision to provide equipment and system status, parts and other work requirements.

orientation, SOP, safety, etc.
as directed from supervision.
· Makes recommendations to manage major repairs or expenses and prepares orders for spare parts, additional stock room items, tools, etc.

* *Knowledge/Skills* · In depth working knowledge of commercial refrigeration equipment, electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems · Demonstrate basic computer skills, refrigeration controller technology · Demonstrate proficiency in testing, adjusting, and balancing HVAC systems · Universal Certification to handle refrigerant transition and recovery in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F · Ability to read refrigeration/HVAC drawings and electronic/electric/pneumatic control schematics · Ability to analyze air conditioning and refrigeration problems and take corrective action · Demonstrated self-motivation and successful experience in previous jobs and responsibilities · Able to work safely, utilizing proper personal protective equipment at all times and understand the concept of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) · Above average troubleshooting skills · Ability to multitask, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions quickly · Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills · High standard of reliability *II.
* *Education and Experience* · High School diploma or equivalent (GED) · Journeyman qualities in refrigeration and HVAC systems, or equivalent work experience · Experience as HVAC/Refrigeration mechanic maintaining and troubleshooting industrial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and associated controls.
This includes but is not limited to servicing: a) at least 50-Ton HVAC/Refrigeration systems and/or servicing low temperature refrigeration systems b) ability to interface with automated building/refrigeration control systems *III.
* *Machines, Tools & Equipment (Office & Industrial), Software* Many types of tools will be used to complete tasks.
Overall knowledge of equipment and tools is needed.
Knowledge of general office equipment is needed as well.
*IV.
* *Licenses/Certifications* AC/ Freon Certification to handle refrigerant transition and recovery in accordance with EPA 40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F.
Fork-lift certification is a must.
Any other mechanical licenses or certifications are encouraged.
*V.
* *Physical Activities/Requirements/Conditions* This position could be required to provide physical activities including to, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching associated with normal performance.
This position will require occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.
) frequent moderate to light lifting.
This position will also expose the person to cold temperatures occasionally and cool temperatures frequently.
This position will also require the ability to comfortably perform most tasks of the maintenance responsibilities which may include the need to work from a ladder, scissor or man lift, on rooftops or in tight spaces in numerous different types of weather conditions.
Dexterity to safely maneuver through or around racking systems, wall openings and open spaces.
