Sr. Logistics Manager

Job Summary The Sr.
Logistics Manager provides leadership through strategic and operational oversight of the warehouse, transportation and customer service teams.
This position is responsible for the successful execution of warehousing and distribution operations and optimization strategy including managing the performance of critical distribution partners.
Leads and coordinates key strategic and functional services to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization while partnering with the Sales teams.
Essential Job Functions The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: · Provide leadership and coaching to a multi-level team, including 4 direct and multiple indirect reports, across two locations to ensure strong results though effective performance management and development planning.
· Developing and implementing a solid strategic plan while balancing its immediate needs with the long-term goals of the company.
· Oversee the completion of Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance through accurate record keeping and supervision in coordination with the Transportation Manager.
· Ensure maximum customer service, order fill rate, on-time shipment, on-time delivery, order accuracy, and optimal performance, balanced with cost and time/flexibility.
· Define and manage key internal and client-facing metrics and KPIs and define strategies for continuous improvement.
· Manage carrier performance levels, recommends improvements or service enhancements, and makes corrective actions to resolve issues.
· Effective collaboration with internal partners in Sales, Processing, Quality and Finance across all job levels and responsibilities.
· Develop and implement SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOP’s (Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures), and any other programs and compliance standards required in the specific areas of transportation, warehouse and customer service.
· Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
· Report any damages to company property.
· Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
· Comply with all company policies and procedures.
· Completes other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: · Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, logistics, business management or related field, preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of demonstrated supervisory experience in transportation and logistics departments, including negotiation skills, required; food industry preferred.
· Valid Driver’s License required to operate between multi-site facilities.
· Demonstrated ability to guide and mentor employees while taking responsibility for overall performance.
· Experience with all modes of transportation including, LTL, FTL, and both inbound outbound.
· Advanced understanding of DOT regulations and compliance.
· Outstanding communication skills.
· Strong leadership ability and customer service awareness.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
· Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
· Advanced personal computer skills: Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures.
Physical Demands The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: · Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance.
· Ability to safety ascend/descend stairs constantly.
· Ability to work in wide range of working conditions including office, warehouse and production floors.
· Conditions of production floor and warehouse maybe cold, wet, loud and PPE is required.
