Learn More About Our Company Job Purpose EnerSys is seeking an Industrial Engineer with a practical understanding of equipment, assembly lines, and plant processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The candidate will use FlexSim simulation software to test plant capacity models for accuracy and identify any areas of inefficiency.
All major processes are included in these simulation files and must be revised whenever equipment, processes, or production rates change.
Capacity model “master” files are maintained for all plants globally and will assist in simulation development.
FlexSim will be also used to test feasibility and potential payback of proposed capital projects.
To collect data and understand the processes for these types of projects the candidate would be asked to travel to the site they are simulating as needed.
Candidate will be tasked with small scale capital projects which involve specification, design, budgeting, purchasing, planning, installation oversight, and commissioning.
Knowledge of this process is a plus.
Critical outcomes in this aspect would be system performance, installation schedule adherence, and adherence to budget.
Candidate will be expected to develop a strong knowledge of lean principles with a focus on SMED and TPM.
This person would be expected to become a go-to “expert” on these matters for those at the plant level.
Use OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) to monitor manufacturing processes and help plants focus on causes of lost productivity.
Instruct plants with OEE definitions and measurement to maintain uniformity.
Utilize SCADA system data whenever possible to streamline data collection.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field required.
General understanding of manufacturing processes required, as well as SCADA experience Extensive use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, required.
10-20% of time will be travel to various plant locations.
Working knowledge of simulation software such as FlexSim, Simul8, etc.
is a plus.
